Will window cleaner kill ants if it is sprayed on them?

February 6th, 2010 | by admin |

I have some crawling on a certain section of my baseboard in my living room. How do i get rid of them?

The ammonia in the window cleaner usually kills most insects. I use it on hornets and bees when they are somewhere I don’t want to use a heavy duty bug killer. Usually they just slow down pretty quick and then die. I also like that with the stinging insects because they don’t really get the chance to get aggressive once you hit them.

You can always use an ant trap. That usually does the job with less work. The poison gets back to the nest usually as well.

Probably, there is no harm trying it. Although i personally recommend bleach as it has a mixture of acids in it.

A product called Grant’s, they are little stakes that can be used indoor or out. It’s a bait that they take back to the colony, takes a week or two but works very well. You can get them just about anywhere even your grocery store.

It will work ON them but if you spray an area where they might come to then I doubt it. My son has ants in the cabana around the sink area and I spray the buggers with windex and they die immediateky. I wiped the counter down with a few drops of dawn and noticed yesterday they were gone.Maybe dawn works to keep them away.
